Mercedes has finally exceeded four pounds. She is gaining weight every day and is doing great! Her isolette went on the fritz last night. The nurse tried to convince the doctor to move her to a crib, but the doctor said that she would have to be 4 pounds 2 ounces before she would get out of the isolette. Instead of a crib, she just got a new isolette. Mercedes is 4 pounds and 1/2 ounce, so she only has an ounce and a half more to gain before she can get into a crib. The nurse thought that she would make weight in no time. In fact, she told Rose that she would call us tonight if Mercedes gained enough today to get a crib.
Mercedes is all alone now in the NICU. Rose had a tough time leaving her today, but we know that she will be home when she is ready.
Yay little Mercedes! Grow baby grow! :)
